Mandy Moore is young (just 16), blond, American and the latest
in a long line of post-Britney newcomers.
But don't let that put you off - this debut album
proves there is more to Mandy than most who heard 'Candy' would
give her credit for.
Whilst the rest follow the tried and tested Backstreet
Boys/Britney/Billie style production road, Mandy goes the other
way with the opening title track 'I Wanna Be With You', an uplifting
string-fest and a gorgeous future number one. With half of the
tracks on here falling into this category there are plenty of
breathtaking moments.
The bouncy bubblegum vibes of first hit 'Candy'
are replicated across many of the uptempo tracks, giving Mandy
plenty of material on which to practise her exhausting dance routines.
Sure she has a pretty face (Neutrogena think so
too - they have just signed her up to front their worldwide campaign),
but 'I Wanna Be With You' shows she has plenty of talent to back
it up.
