Teen People Magazine's 25 of the Hottest Stars Under 25

At 15, an age when many kids aren't even working
full-time, Mandy Moore was already holding down three jobs: budding
pop star, Neutrogena spokeswoman, and frequent MTV host. "It
does get really hard sometimes just to go, 'Stop! I need eight
hours of sleep,'" says the busy entertainer, who's debut
album, So Real, has gone platinum. She's not complaining though.
Pop's Renaissance girl found her calling at age six after seeing
a local production of Oklahoma!in her hometown of Orlando---then
spent four years convincing her parents. "I was just singing
around the house, singing The Little Mermaid, Madonna, and New
Kids on the Block, and finally it jumped into their heads,"
she remembers. "They were all like, 'All right, I don't think
she's gonna shut up,' so they let me get voice lessons and start
auditioning." Soon she was doing commercials, TV pilots,
and voice overs. At 13, she was overheard singing in an Orlanda
studio by a FedEx worker who had a friend in Sony Music's A&R
department. Mandy's demo eventually made it to the label's Epic
550 Music imprint, which signed her up. Despite her heavy schedule,
she's digging success. "It's a cool feeling for somebody
to want your name scribbled on a piece of paper," says Mandy.
"I never want to get used to that feeling."
